Review for Hotel Venezuela in Rio de Janeiro
I booked a stay for 10 days and had a lovely experience. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, making me feel at home. The location is fantastic, right next to Sugarloaf Mountain and along the beautiful beachfront, with easy access to the Largo Machado metro stations and nearby shops.

Relative to other options in the Flamengo area, Hotel Venezuela was competitively priced (included a simple and typical breakfast) and was easy to locate. Parking was not available but a parallel street had a reasonably priced 24hr parking garage.
"Tiniest rooms in the world", this is how I described the hotel rooms to my (American) wife. For Latin-Americans, traveling on a budget and aware of the cost of housing in Rio, it's easy to get accustomed to the size of the room and bathroom.

The standard double room had a safe and AC, which was a plus! It was in a good spot, pretty close to Jackpot Golf Club ⛳.

I greatly enjoyed the stay here. Helpful staff and perfect location close to the MEtro station, everything was GOOD. The service was good. Location: the hotel was short walk to the metro stations Largo Machado and Flamengo, Botanical Garden, and sugarloaf mountain. Found Katsushika steps away from the venue where I had supper.

I have to say I didn't expect much from the hotel at the beginning because I wasn't staying in any of these big hotels in copacabana or ipanema, yet I was wrong, I was pleasantly surprised, the hotel was decent, the breakfast was small but decent too, the room was small but comfortable, but the best part was the customer service, they were very helpful, and I mean very helpful from beginning to end, I highly recommend this hotel to those travellers who wanto save a bit of money on the hotel so that they can pay for tours and other Rio delights; I certainly did, even went to Rock in Rio concerts!!
Include cereal in your breakfast if possible please, apart from that , brilliant!

The rooms are very tiny, but we are in Flamengo beach, Rio de Janeiro! Who needs a big room?

The staff were very helpful and friendly, and accommodated our requests graciously. The hotel was clean and carefully maintained, and our shower had hot water and good pressure. Air conditioning worked fine. We were happy to be able to stay in a clean, friendly, bug-free place in a safe and convenient neighbourhood in the heart of Rio.
The architecture of the building works against it - from outside this appears to be a grand, old Casa, but while the facade has been retained, on the inside the building has been remodelled to include two floors on each level. As a result, ceilings are low, doorways are narrow, rooms are tiny, and placement (or complete lack) of windows in the resulting rooms is unusual and not necessarily optimal. Our first room had no window, but when we requested a room with a window for air circulation, we were offered one with a small window at floor level. This was fine, however, for us, as it opened if we wanted, or we could use the air conditioning. Breakfast was bare-bones - not the usual spread one gets accustomed to when travelling in Brazil.

The staff here were friendly and always ready to assist, the rooms were spotless with all necessary amenities, and the great location was near St Paul's Church.
